Pernik

If you have to shop, then Pernik is the closest place without having to travel in to Sofia.

Don't expect anything too grand from this former industrial town; it is not in its best condition after years of neglect.

There is a pedestrian precinct and a number of small shops. We have not yet located a super-market, but there are plenty of places to stock up on necessary victuals.
