Dupnitsa

This town is situated about 45 minutes east of the house. You can travel a short but very rough route or a longer smoother route - both take the same time.

This is one of our favourite local towns to Izvor. there is a nice pedestrian shopping area, lots of small street cafes and a large open-air market.

In the summer there is an open-air pool just outside the town-centre. I am told that the cinema is worth a visit also - nothing special, but it shows all the same movies you might see back home, but with Bulgarian subtitles......and it costs less than a pound!

The views from just outside of Dupnitsa are spectacular. You can see both the Rila Mountains and Mount Vitosha.
